In my mind emails should be something quick,easy, and secure, and that is something that Microsoft Outlook has in spades. I do tend to email quite a lot and over the years I have built up quite a number of email addresses. However, I find with hotmail, yahoo and even gmail, that very often these can be troublesome to get into, easily become filled with spam and more annoyingly are surrounded by advertisements for items I have no interest in.

Then there is Microsoft Outlook. I have used Outlook for years at work but never really paid it much attention and I never used it at home. That was until I recently upgraded both my home PC and my laptop and upgraded my Office program to 2007. Little did I realise what I had been missing.

The ease of which emails are downloaded. The tidy and various ways they can be arranged and filed. Add to that the fact that I recently started my own business and the professional nature that outlook can give to your emails is fantastic.

One area that Outlook does fall down on is virus protection, I dont think I would trust it to work on its own, so I would recommend using a fully licenced anti virus program. I use Norton 360 and this links well with Outlook.

I have no doubt that at present I am still not using outlook to its full potential, however, the tutorials that come with it are more than adiquate to bring you up to speed.

The final point to make is that going from free email programs to having to pay for one is a big leap. The best deal I could find online was through Amazon with just Outlook costing £70, however, if you are upgrading I would definately recommend it.
