MS Office 2004 Student and Teacher Edition for Mac ... where I don t use one application or another in this pack. It is also heavily reduced in price compared to the full version, yet it offers all the same functionality. I am very impressed. What is more, if you buy it through the Apple education store, you receive further discounts. I was worried about the compatibility with earlier versions of the office, as well as the cross compatibility with Microsoft versions of office seeing as I am always transferring data between my macbook and the PCs at university. MS Office 2000 Professional ... Microsoft office 2000 is one of my favourite software packages from Microsoft. You don t require a gazillion amount of memory or processor speed to load the different packages up on your PC unlike newer versions like 2007. There are no problems with file extensions like the new versions (people don t remember to save as the 97 - 2003 file extensions with the 2007 office package). You save you send and people can open your document without the need to convert from 2007 via Zamzar (online converting tool). I do agree that software packages do have to evolve and that the design and layout cannot remain the same forever but in my opinion this and 2003 are the bes... MS Office Word 2007 ... revolutionary new design. I say revolutionary, as revolutions should, if not have, been started over this ridiculous new user interface. I wouldn t go as far as to say that the original menu setup for Word in the previous editions was straightforward, but having used a near unchanging user interface for nigh on ten years to suddenly have such a drastic change leads me to question the sanity of Microsoft, even more so any company that is willing to "upgrade" to Office 2007 and annul up to a week s worth of productivity from everyone taking several minutes to find out how to insert pictures.
