MS Office 2001 for Mac Upgrade ... 2001 all feature a variety of improvements over their current counterparts, and the collection now features a new personal information manager (PIM), Entourage. Entourage is designed both as a PIM and e-mail client. The software offers calendaring capabilities, to do lists, a contact management database, and Word-like editing capabilities.

Improvements have also been made to the common text formatting and image editing tools shared by Office applications. Data and list manipulation have been greatly improved and simplified as well, to help accommodate what Microsoft describes as the bulk of what people do with Excel: manage simple lists, like inventories, customer lists, or personal information like CD collections. PowerPoint's layout has been simplified and improved, and support for QuickTime transitions and effects is now offered. Office now features 400 different templates to help users create a variety of documents quickly and easily, as well. Templates range from business forms like invoices, memos and expense reports to personal correspondences, resumes and more. They're all accessed through an AppleWorks - like Project Gallery feature, which Microsoft describes as the starting point for Office use.
