It's Office But Not As We Know It. (MS Office 2007 Small Business Edition)

Advantages: Good Autosave Function. Easy & Quick Installation.

Disadvantages: The New 'Office' Interface, Doesn't Offer Much To Inspire The Upgrade, Expensive.

Microsoft Office 2007 Small Business Edition contains the following products - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Publisher. This is an upgrade version that can be installed on two different computers, but please note that you must have an excising edition of Microsoft office installed already (check the Microsoft Office website before buying).

This office suite offers a range of applications essential for both business users and home users. Providing the ability to complete a range of tasks such as create spreadsheets, presentations, and word documents. While not a great deal seems to be different from previous versions of Office, the Document Recovery Tool has been improved and is a welcome safe guard auto saving documents as you work. The software installation was quick and straightforward, and I've had no problems with the stability of the program as the software itself is working perfectly.

But unfortunately that's about all the positive things I can say about Office.

The new interface is somewhat different and you will either like it or hate it. Personally I don't like it because it takes longer (i.e. more clicks) to achieve the same function. But more annoying is that some of the features (in Word especially) seem difficult to find, and some of the keyboard shortcuts that worked in previous versions of Office no longer work in this version. The Word files types are not backwards compatible with previous versions of Office, but the software does allow you save files in the 'Word 97-2003' format which will work on previous versions, but again this requires an extra step to do so.

Despite the installation being quick, actually using the program and opening various documents take longer to do so, again wasting time.

The main problem however, is that I cannot see much difference in this upgrade version when compared to previous versions of office. So is it actually worth upgrading, I personally doubt it, when you considering the cost and the fact that it doesn't seem to offer much extra.
