Office 2007 is a great application and is the 6 years of hardwork of people working in it. i was using office-03 for the last few years and i was somewhat not satisfied its 4 years old-school look, besides that it doesnot have the support features of PDF file which is a great file format to work with. and since i am using my old pc with 256mb of RAM, its quite a cumbersome work to manage multitasking with office 2003 therefore i switched to a lightweight word processor "ABBY FINE READER". which have more or less same features as of office-03 and takes up half resources as office-03.

but after a few months of the official release of office-2007, i've got a chance to have a sneak peek of it in my client's machine. the first thing that amazed me is no other than its looks and its relevance with vista which is officially called "Ribbon User Interface" which replaces menus and toolbars.it has a menu button just like the start button of vista which i think is the heart of the product. the most convincing thing was the supporting feature of saving the document as a PDF file made me change my mind due to which i upgraded my pc to 2gigs of RAM and im using vista and office-2007 in it.
but as it has all the features that a office product could have, i personally dont like the feature of saving the file into the new format. i.e for word files->.DOCX, for presentation files-> .PPTX and so on. this feature doesn't allows to open these files in the machines having old office products such as office-xp or office-03. but after microsoft introduced the additional feature of saving the files in the old office formats in the service pack i dont have any issues with it.

after using for quite a few days, i am pretty much satisfied with the product and i dont think there is any office product in the market today that has such long list of features that cannot be written on a single page.

Summary: no other office product can do as much as office-07
