Microsoft Office Excel 2007.
This software is also known as spreadsheets, and due to its name provides an excellent way for you to create a spreadsheet from scratch and use the facility of creating charts and graphs to see trends and patterns in data, For example what was my income and out goings for the last month? How much money can I afford to save each month for the new car I want?
This spreadsheet software also allows you to sort and filter data and perform calculations on data using various formulas and functions.
From looking at the older versions of Excel which I have used and am very familiar with upgrading to 2007 is definitely the right thing to do. However for spreadsheet users upgrading to 2007 will need a bit of getting used to as the interface is extremely different. Functions that would have taken you ages to perform and find from the drop down menus of the older versions become so much more easier as all the functionality of this software is constantly displayed on the interface.
When writing up formula and functions the spreadsheet comes up with suggestions as you write the formula in and also provides a dictionary of what certain terms mean. (which is really useful)
The main diffewrnece I have noticed with the 2007 verison is creating graphs and charts, although the interface is really user friendly, I for some reason have found it really difficult to create the type of chart and graph ive wanted wiothout having to play around with the fucntions for hours.
I found creating graphs and chart more easier in their older versions of Microsoft Excel as although I had to scroll through many options before creating a graph or chart isn't was quite a straight forward and simple process.
The other thing which isn't great in the new version is the help function, it does find what you are looking for however the language is so over complicated that you have to use a dictionary to understand some of the terminology. In the context of user friendliness 2007 is much more better the the older versions of Excel.
The new version of Excel also enables you to sort and filter information and data in a more in-depth way then the earlier versions.
The only difficulty I have is that if you access a computer with the older versions of the software and you want to open a 2007 spreadsheet, some of the formatting will change and this can have effect on the formula and functions you have used.
