The talk about Office XP and its release has dominated the IT headlines this week, with as ever mixed mumblings as to whether it is worth upgrading to or not. For most users at the moment, its prohibitive price-tag and also the fact that most people are yet to migrate to XP means that it is not top of the heap on everyone’s wish list for the time being. Admittedly it is still early days and I have not had the chance to fully explore every package in the suite fully. But there have been a few things that have already become apparent in the three days that I have had to play around with it. Installation: As per Office 2000, although with ... Office XP, Microsoft’s new integrated suit for the experienced person, is finally with us. The main modules of the program have all been enhanced, with the focus on ease of use, rather than extra features. With a product this mature, there was no other choice. Even though each of the modules is a heavyweight in its own field, the trick is to make them easy for the first timer to learn, and with enough shortcuts to persuade the seasoned user to upgrade. Microsoft has made several distinct additions to the core features that go some way to meeting these demands. Several features of Office XP are implemented in each of the main modules. ... We have seen very little change between Office '97 and 2000. There were one or two nice tweaks, but it was nothing special. Enter Office XP. XP standing for experienced. Not recommended for education, or those who didn't know the basics in Office. I decided to take a look anyway. On first appearances I didn't see any change. All he icons were the same. So I opened Word. I was immediately struck by a different feel. There is a task bar listing recent documents, types of new documents you can open and short cuts to web sites. To begin with this annoyed me as I wasn't used to it, however, I soon got used to it, and will close it when I ... Read the complete review

Before you read this office on Microsoft Office XP let me make it clear I don?t know much about computers, all I know are the basics. So, this is a review for those of you in the same boat. For some, this review may not cover all the technical jargons that accompanies this package. There?s no point of me pretending to make readers understand something I barely understand myself. Back to the review. I have been using Microsoft Windows 98 for a couple of years now until then I was happy with Windows 95 but like a friend once said ?you don?t know what you?ve got until you have tried it?. So, when I did try Windows 98 I realised how good it was. It was ... Read the complete review

Office XP is the latest office suite from Microsoft. The standard suite includes word, excel, access, PowerPoint and outlook but not publisher, each package can be bought individually. Office XP has significant improvements over previous versions like 97 and 2000 with some exceedingly good features like handwriting recognition, voice recognition and OCR all built in. Office supports a new GUI which is more colourful but still has a professional air about it. Office XP is related to windows XP and therefore is very integrated with the internet. Word XP: Word is the standard word processor today and is used by nearly all companies as their choice for word ... Read the complete review
