Advantages: Usually resedential location

Disadvantages: Short dates, unfriendly staff

I first started visiting Aldi when one was built not too far from where I lived so I decided to give it a try even though I was dubious as I was worried that it would be stack em high and sell em cheap and bashed like netto is.

Upon entering Aldi I was suprised how clean and bright it was, but then again it was a purpose built building. As I had a pushchair with me I looked for a basket as I couldn't manage a trolley and a pushchair. I searched in vain and finally as I couldn't find a member of staff I marched over to the checkout to ask the question and was told they don't do hand baskets!

So walking round the store I had to balance everything on the top of the pushchair, not a easy task!

The breads all looked very appealing and there were some nice crusty loafs however they all have such short dates, the fruit loaf is very yummy however the price is on par with warbatons fruit loaf in tescos. There are shelfs full of cakes and chocolate - ok for those not on a healthy regime!
The cereals are plentyfull and surpisingly are very nice, not quite as good at kellogs but more than half the price. They do a lovely selection of meats and the veg is very good. The part baked bread rolls are deliciously scrummy as are the breaded camembert.

The misconception with Aldi is that its cheap, thats not the case anymore some things are indeed cheap but others you would buy cheaper in tescos, and aldis own name stuff are more expensive than tescos own named, saying that the quality and taste are very high at aldi.

I don't personally believe you could get your weekly shop from Aldi but if you have the time its nice for a browse around and get a few things that you fancy.

Summary: Neither good nor bad.
