Advantages: Cheap and cheerful
Disadvantages: not a lot of choice
As I always seem to think 'you only get what you pay for' I was put off going to Aldi as everyone said it was so cheap. Anyway was passing with friend who nipped in for something so my first experience was an experience. Names never heard of, prices unbeleivable, very sceptical, bought a few items for family to try without telling them where i bought them from, suprise, surprise no complaints, so now I am hooked. Clean, pleasant store and have found most tinned stuff very acceptable ie;- toms 9p-beans 9p-spag hoops 7p named corned beef 39p. Dried goods:- pasta very cheap 29-49p per kilo, sugar 45p- flour 9p Dairy foods cheaper than anywhere else, eggs 25p hf doz Veg as fresh as any other supermarket Alcohol a plenty I am not too fussed on the frozen food, as we have another local store that is even cheaper for branded goods. Hardwear and household goods, not a lot of selection, as it is a bit hit and miss, grab it while it's there (if you need it) Staff very efficient, too fast sometimes, trying to catch stuff off conveyor belt can be a game. Take plenty of carriers, or grab boxes on the way round, as they charge for carriers. Overall:- Brilliant for basics, not a lot of choice, great value, oh. yes you do get more for what you pay for.
