Advantages: Timesaving, huge options to choose from and great after sales service

Disadvantages: Not so much of shopping experience as it is purchasing experience

Argos provides a huge array of choice for its customers at their doorsteps. Even without going to the shop a person can get the thrill of choosing through hundreds of shopping options available for him/her. It is true that ebay or other web commerce sites may provide 100 times more options than argos, but Argos presents their commodities in a much more enjoyable way. The catalogue of Argos is therefore a great way of timepass for those who like to plan their income to be distributed over many important and unimportant commodities. Sometimes the catalogue seems freightening as one might find many of the products suitable for one's needs. From what I have seen, parents would hardly want this catalogue to fall in the hands of their kids, specially the parents with limited income. It is a pity, but it gives proper value to those who do not like to travel around a lot for shopping or do not like to keep looking at the PC screen to buy goods.

The best possible side of Argos is probably their after sales service. If your product has a guarantee and it starts to function a little less than properly while the guarantee is not over, Argos will change it without asking anything. All you need to do is to take the product back to Argos and claim it. The same is applicable for other big stores but in case of online retailers like Amazon and eBay, you may not even have a clue about how to claim the replacement.

The idea of Argos is more or less a revolutionary one as is eBay or Amazon. All these along with Argos are more environment friendly as they minimize the need for shopping spaces and travelling for consumers. If you are unsure about the quality of the products sold by Argos because they sell by catalogue, don't be. They are as good as the products available in any other retailer.

However, if you are after passing some quality time with your girlfriend, wife or your family on the shopfloor, then Argos may not be the best place to be in as they have only an area to order by reference number and collect it when your number is called. A specified area for all products in their catalogue for display would be a good offering from the side of Argos. However, they provide quick service anyway, which is invaluable for many people who have shortage of time.

In the end, I would recommend purchasing from Argos. Happy shopping and thanks for reading the review.

Summary: Quick way for shopping that cuts down the shopping experience a little.

Good review. I used to be very pleased with Argos but after one disappointing experience it put me off a little bit. They gave me a different item than was in the book without advising me first and it was my 13 year old daughter who was paying for it which annoyed me. I would go on with details but I've done a review on it so you can have a read if you're interested. Belinda
