Advantages: All under one roof

Disadvantages: Miserable staff

Argos are the number one high street catalogue, really this is because they are the only one. I use Argos mostly for gifts and toys but occasionally for things like jewellery, things for my car or for garden tools and equipment. These are only occasional buys though.

I often check on line the things I want and then reserve them so as not to waste my time and then I can check if any other stores have the product I want in stock. This is important to me as I try not to journey in to town unless I really have to. Another service that is useful to some is they deliver, sometimes that is the only option, obviously for things like furniture and large electrical appliances. If you have a lot of items to buy of they are bulky then its good this option is available.

The main reason I like Argos is the fact that they try to put more than one price option for each kind of product. Toys for instance, if you buy Beanstalk you can get toys for almost half the price of Fisher Price or V-tech and they are really nice and fair quality too. They have the same option in most section, in kitchen appliances they have their own brand called Cook works. This is much cheaper and of a good quality for the price. Obviously it is not as good but I think it is good enough in most cases.

They have a large jewellery range that I have patronised since I was a teenager for both myself, my family and friends as gifts, I bought my wedding ring set from here and they has them personalised free of charge for me and my husband too.

From my own dealing I have found their customer service to be adequate , this would be good but I find almost all the staff to be basically unmotivated and lacking in friendliness and general effort where their work is concerned. This is a big let down for me and I feel more should be done to motivate the staff, after all you can spend an hour queuing at Christmas for your purchase, this I can see is sometimes unavoidable and hard work for the staff but it is the most crucial time for them to lift their spirits and get a good atmosphere into the shop.

Mostly I give a thumbs up for Argos and if the staff were more pleasant and waiting time could be further improved then it would be a BIG thumbs up.

Find most things you want.

A fair price bracket tailored for most pockets.

Miserable and unenthusiastic staff, long waiting times.

Get there early and get all you needs met in one store, easy.

Summary: All your shopping needs under one roof, or online, or delivered.....
