Unlike normal high street stores, Argos tends to have none of the items in stock on display. Instead catalogues listing items are available instore. One simply selects the item from the catalogue, pays for it and then wait for it to be delivered from the stock room.

I have only used Argos on several occasions. In recent years to buy a budget diy barbeque set for £15. Before setting out to Argos, I visit the Argos website, browse through the catalogue and reserve my item to collect at my local store. Arriving at the store, I go to the machine, trype in my reservation number, insert credit card, pay for the item and simply wait for my order to be delivered from the stock room. The process is very simple, efficient and straight forward.

However I have found Argos to be useful only if I know the specific item I want to buy, a bit like shopping online but being able to pick it up immediately rather than wait for the item delivered.

For anyone who wants browse through items in a shop and speak to a customer sales staff, I would not recommend Argos. Argos is a place to shop for lower end of the market items and low prices. Argos isn't a place I like to spend a long time, there's a depressing atmosphere, the kind of people who shop there are in the lower income bracket with lots of customers who don't make much effort and wear shell suits as part of their everyday clothing. It has the same atmosphere as the dole office attracting a similar kind of people. I try to go in, pay for my item and leave as soon as possible.
