Advantages: Low prices
Disadvantages: Closes at 10
I'm quite lucky as my Asda was built only this year so everything is still new and shiny. However it was also built only minutes away from Tesco. This is really the only downfall i have on the supermarket. Basically is closes too early and although somepeople find 10 a good time there are some who have life syles that 24 hour shopping is much easier. Having earlier closing hour than Tesco does mean the shop can become frustratingly busy at times.
Apart from that i have no problems. I used to do my shopping at Tesco until one day i opted for Asda and discovered my shopping was a whopping £15 cheaper. This alone is enough to make me change my shopping habits.
I'm also a big fan of the in store cafe, the food is resonably prices and compared to Tesco it's really tasty.
I do admit that i dont really by clothes from Asda, I find that although they are really cheap they do lack quality. I bought sleepsuits for my babies there and did find that they bobbled quickly and lot a bit of shape during washing. Still, if your just looking for some clothes to knock about in its great value for money.
Asda food quality is much better. I buy the 5 for £3.50 on ready meals and have no complaints. These ready meals are quick, cheap and tasty. The Toad in the hole being my favourite, the hotpot and cottage pie all still great for a quick fix.
I find that Asda has a great selection of magazines and books. I was extremelly impressed by their pricing of the ladybird childrens books. I started buying the disney collection at Tesco for £3.50 each a year ago and gave up because they never got any more that one or two back in. Asda sold the same books for 97p each and now i'm only a few books short of the whole collection.
DVD are also a great buy and i usualy come back with one each visit, if not a DVD then a PC game.
Summary: A really good and inexpensive way to do your shopping.
