After seeing all the adverts on the tv about how cheap ASDA is and what good deals they now have following walmart taking them over. I thought I would pay a trip to my local ASDA in Spondon, Derby.
I have to agree they have a very good selection of products but on first impressions I found the store to be very dirty looking and very cluttered.
I would hate to be in a wheelchair or have kids and try to push them around the store as the asiles are so narrow plus there's not enough staff on duty to cut down the queues at the checkout, it makes shopping so hard.
I also purchased some of their own make ready meals, I have never tasted such horrible food. The Spagettie Bolognase was horrid, it was like eating cardboard strips with a very bland sauce.
There are some good points though. The products are reasonable in price, they also have some good offers on electrical goods. I got a toaster for £8.
The cafe is also very good value and they do a special day on Thursday and Saturday evening where you can eat as much pasta, salad and pizza for £2.95, bargin, and the pizza was very nice!
I would reccomend a vist but best to go either late at night (they are 24hr at most of their stores) or midweek when it isn't as busy.
Don't go on a Saturday as it is a nightmare!!
Also don't bother to visit the website because it is just pointless. It contains no information that is worthwhile and the comments section lets you send in complaints and comments to their HQ but I am still awaiting a response over a week later!
