Advantages: Saves Real Money.
Disadvantages: Have to collect vouchers.
ASDA operate a system whereby the supermarket will accept any “money off” vouchers for products they sell, whether you buy the product or not. This is up to 10% of the total value of your shopping which is a much better discount than you can achieve from any other supermarket discount or points scheme, which usually only amount to 1 or 2 per cent. ASDA pass the vouchers past their bar code readers at the checkouts, so it is not worth trying to use any voucher for products they do not sell, or for any voucher that is out of date. When you start looking around it is amazing how many “money off” vouchers there are in magazines, newspapers, on the internet and from promotion packs. We just keep an envelope at home and collect up these vouchers until we are going shopping at ASDA. We never seem to run out of vouchers, and we do spend quite a bit of money at ASDA. There is never any problem when presenting the vouchers and the checkout operators are quite happy to accept them. This is a very genuine, easy way to save money from your shopping bill. I suggest everybody uses it.

I never realised they did this, or were allowed too. It is certainly something I will bear in mind in the future.
Proof if it were needed, that short and sweet opinions can also be very useful as well. Thank you.

- 22/11/00 Now that is a very useful piece of information. it certainly beats digging in your already packed bags to try and prove to the checkout operator you really DID buy the product you have a voucher for. i think I'll give it a go. Thanks |
