Advantages: cheap range, very large indeed, wide range of products

Disadvantages: grubby, very large indeed, noisy (announcements every minute), miserable staff

Asda used to be my local supermarket and I used it because it was closest. I've been to several Asdas around the country and have come away with the same opinion each time.

I'm not a big fan of Asda. I've always found them to be on the grubby side - or maybe it's just the colour scheme, yellow. The floor usually has a fair bit of dust on it plus paper and tape from packaging. While their range is large, their stores are far too big for me. I need a map to find my way around.

Pricewise, they are fairly good. They don't have a lot of the offers that Tesco or Somerfield have, but they do have a cheapy range - then again, they've all got those now. I'd rather shop at one of the aforementioned alternatives and be able to buy 2 for 1's than battle my way around a cram packed Asda (and it's ALWAYS packed).

The George clothes range is very snappy and up to date, although it can be pricier than the high street. The novelty kids clothes are an excellent section and you could shop for cute baby stuff to your heart's content.

The staff - I've usually found them to be irritable and unhelpful (they don't like being interrupted while stacking shelves) or helpful and unsmiling, as if they are totally bored.

Its a shame really ..I work for Asda..Ill have to relay it back, when I go back after my maternity leave. Most of the staff in our store are ok..but like all supermarkets to much pressure is on the staff to do everytime ..and no time to the customer..which is unfair.I always chat and help customers..even if it means 10mins of not doing what I should do LOL.
