Asda - good value (Asda)

Advantages: Great prices

Disadvantages: Own brand Tuna isn't the best!

No doubt you'll know where your nearest Asda is and would have shopped there at least once. Asda is a popular supermarket, which offers probably the best value, in my opinion, of any of the main supermarket chains. At the moment, Lidl has some great offers on, but Asda food I think is a bit better.

For me, Asda's own brand is generally very good (wth the exception of it's tuna and 1 or 2 other products). It's worth trying these products if you are paying more for 'big brands' such as Heinz, Hellman's, HP etc.

In the stores i've been to, car Parking is free and you don't need to put your pound in the trolley! There's also brakes on the trolleys and spaces for 2 small children to sit.

There are self service checkouts available now, although there are sometimes 1 or 2 checkouts broken. It's also quite common to get some problems when scanning some items (not all) which mean you have to call the supervisor over. They do give cashback though!

The queues are ok - sometimes you have to wait for 5 minutes or so in peak times, but they usually have enough checkout operators to cope.

The prices are excellent, the best i've found in comparison to Tesco, Sainsbury's, Waitrose, Safeway and Iceland etc.

Overall, defintiely worth a try if you don't normally shop there.
