Advantages: I'll pass on that
Disadvantages: Poor everything
Is it just me or is Asda the most depressing looking of all the supermarkets in the UK? I'm not a regualar shopper at Asda but the times I've been there I just can't wait to leave. Usually, I like to take my time when I shop - but not here. Staff uniforms are drab - same as hospital theatre staff! Mediocre products - and some of their own "Farm Stores" brands barely qualify as food! (the chicken kievs make good novelty squash balls for sports fans as they bounce well). Seriously though, their packaging makes the food look unapetising as well - the first bite is always with the eye. In the stores I've been in, they frequently change them round so that you can't find what you've come in for - it wouldn't be as bad if the place was made more inviting - the longer a customer stays in a shop, the more likely they will spend more. I'd rather go to the continental discount supermarkets that sell stuff straight off the pallet. I'd have thought Walmart would have done more than they have done, though. If they wanted to, they could introduce "american prices" overnight. Why haven't they? (stupid question - we live in "rip off Britain", don't we?) The choice of locations is also poor as well, retail parks, motorway turn-offs, etc.
