Disadvantages: none
Asda
I visited my local Asda store today and I must admit I haven't shopped there for a few years.
Being a habit creature I always seem to go to the same supermarket every week and just accept the prices. So today I thought I would have a browse and I was surprised at what I found.
The fresh vegetables were displayed in a really inviting fashion, you were just drawn to the displays and I must admit I did fill a few plastic bags up with brussell sprouts and fresh runner beans, well fresh veggie is so much nicer than the frozen alternative isn't it?
The clothing section was enlightening, I must admit I have never been one to buy clothes from a supermarket, but I have to stand up and say Asda have got it together as far as fashion is concerned.
Hubby was not too pleased, I bought a tee-shirt for my grandson, a really nice skirt for myself, (one size too small, I am on a diet...cough cough) and a really nice housecoat from the sale rack.
The general food aisles were nice and wide and I thought the healthy diet fridges and freezers had a more than adequate choice.
Lastly the wine and beer section. Well this was the best for me. They had Australian, South African, Italian and even Moroccan wine on display, I spent quite a time in this aisle I must admit, and I do love my wines.
The tills were wide to manoeuvre your trolleys through and the end price for my shopping trolley was a pleasant surprise so I think I will be going back next week

- 22/04/01 Asda's is my fave store, Since I'm a teen well for the next yr anyway I find it has everything I need! Its better than Tescos which I cant stand. They sell CD singles which Tescos and other stores dont and they have a Huge selection of CDs and Videos which are great! Also the George section is good also. I bought a pair of jeans there on monday and they were reduced from £20 something to £15! Bargain I think and they are very fashionable and I dont even like wearing jeans! these are my only pair and they feel nice and comfortable! Good Op shame mine dont get as many reads as yours! Lol anyway thats my problem. |

- 19/04/01 No queues? You lucky woman! I try to go at quiet times like 5.30 on a Wednesday or something, and you still have to wait forever. I go to Asda when I'm skint and Sainsbury's when I'm feeling flush (or lazy - it's just round the corner!) - I do believe in the expression 'you get what you pay for'. |
