Advantages: locality
Disadvantages: cheap shoody goods
is it me or has Asda started to go downhill with it's products? i used to go there every week without fail, but now find myself going further afield just to get quality items. the 'fresh' cooked meat looks processed, there is no texture to it, and it doesn't last more than a day. the 'fresh' fruit and vegetables are expensive and again there shelf life seems to have halved. has anyone had the gala apples from there recently? we have had to throw them all away because they are either maggot infested or just plain rotten. Morrisons apples are so much fresher, tastier and cheaper. the flowers from Asda are no way near as good as the ones from Morrisons, they are expensive and the choice just isn't there. the only one good thing i can recommend is the Ribena Light 9 pack is 40p cheaper than morrisons. my local asda has the worst customer service 'team' possible. i think they should all go on a customer service course, maybe then they'll know what job they're supposed to be doing. politeness and eye contact costs nothing unlike the rising prices in asda. sorry asda - you're not tempting me with your high budget marketing and avertising. perhaps you should spend a little more on the quality of the products you buy in because i'm off elsewhere.

- 30/05/01 Testament to the old saying "you get what you pay for". I tried Asda for a couple of weeks when I was a bit skint, and I did save about a fiver on my weekly shop, but the quality is really not that great. I'm sticking with Sainsbury's!
