Advantages: loads of bargains

Disadvantages: gets a bit too busy

We all know the ad on the telly where people stand around in Asda patting thier backsides dont we?
Well its not really like that.
Our local Asda isnt anyway!

We have been shopping there on and off now for about 3 years and it actually appears that the prices have in fact come down on a lot of our favorite products such as poultry, nappies , and even the alcohol is quite cheap (much to my liking!)

The range of fresh produce is really good, they have things there that I never even heard of, and it all seems to be fresh as if it had just been picked or dug up!

The Deli counter stocks most things I can think of and next to that is the 'Curry Pot' where you can get authentic tasting chinese and Indian curries with rice or naan breads.

The Bakery offers a wide range of stuff such as fresh cream cakes and fresh bread, they even started doing baguettes with exotic fillings like chicken tikka!( my wife says that them ones smell though!)

Asda has a brand of their own known as 'Smartprice' , reasonably priced goods at almost the same quality as the more well known brands.

There isnt much in the way of buy one get one free though, but they do have the offer of buy 3 for the price of 2, almost the same ,but I dont need 3 bottles of bleach right now!

Something I have made good use of is the saver stamps.

By the time Christmas comes around I will havr saved £100 worth of stamps, good enough to buy most of the pressies from there, as long as I buy people tins of biscuits etc...

If you were to see our 2 kids you would notice the majotity of thier clothes is bought from 'George' It is the clothes shop that is attatched to Asda stores and has a really good range of clothes for both boys and girls of all ages.

The mens clothing range is limited but what they do have is of good quality and I cant comment on the womens clothes as I dont buy much of that!


Over all Asda seems to have the right balance of good stock with good prices, but can anyone tell me why they have a music section that plays a video on a huge screen, but the music is for a different song every time?
