Advantages: Lots of Choice, Great bargains, Shopper friendly stores

Disadvantages: none really

The Asda, has always been my favourite supermarket, by a mile, from the overall prices to the quality of their own brands, I think the Asda is tops everytime.

Stores:
-------
I always find that the Asda stores always seem to be very well stocked and nice and tidy, you don’t see empty boxes lying around obstructing your shopping, what you'd call, very "Shopper Friendly".

The stores are also very bright and well facilitated, as they all seem to have toilets, phones and café’s in them. I also find their food on their fresh food sections, always looks very fresh, unlike some other shops, where you look at thing like meat, and they look a day or two old.

Choice:
-------
The Asda not only stock a very wide range of foodstuffs, they also sell Books, CD’s, Video’s, Electrical and Household goods, Clothes, Gardening equipment, as a matter of fact, there isn’t much that they don’t sell.

Prices:
-------
Although you could probably find the odd item cheaper in other super-markets, I find that all round, the Asda, has by far the cheaper prices, and often have plenty of excellent “Buy one, get one free” offers, so overall, you’d probably save more in the Asda, than anywhere else.

Own Brands:
-----------
I find Asda’s own brand are excellent, in both quality and price, they have Tea-bags that are just like PG Tips, they have Pizza’s, that are simply delicious and allow you to choose up to four toppings, from whatever you desire, their own frozen meals i.e. Sweet’N’Sour Chicken, Spaghetti, etc are just as good as anything you’d find made by someone like Birds-Eye, etc, their cereals are spot-on i.e. Rice Snaps are exactly the same as the original Rice Crispies.

Staff and Tills:
----------------
The staff in the Asda, always seem to be very helpful and in their plenty, what I mean by thi
s last part of the statement is, how many times have you into Asda’s competitors i.e. Tesco, Sainsbury, etc and wanted to ask a question, and found no staff to be seen? Yet, with the Asda, there always seems to be a member of the staff in view and willing to help you out. As for the Tills, Asda, seem to be one of the few shops, that actually facilitate the long list of tills, you don’t find loads of empty tills in here, like you do in the Kwik Save, etc.

Customer Care:
--------------
I also find Asda has a superb customer relationship, take just the other day, me and my girlfriend were shopping there, and we picked up a “Chew-bone” for her dog (no, not me, her pet dog) and we were mistakenly charged for two, luckily my girl noticed this on the receipt (you know what girls are like), well anyway, she took it to the till and told the girl, not only was she given the £2.00 back for the extra bone (that we never had), we were also given £2.00 in Asda vouchers for our trouble, how nice of them.

Summary:
--------
So, overall, I think you’ll find the Asda is up there, if not out on its own in virtually every department, their overall prices and special offers are hard to beat, their own brands are superb value and of unbeatable quality, the stores are excellently facilitated and the staff that work there, are excellent and very helpful, you never get an endless stream of empty tills.

Only Asdas I ever use are the ginormous Wal-Mart one in Bristol, and the only a little bit huge[sic] one in Merry Hill, but still, excellent op.

Don't have an Asda near me unfortunately. Ones I've been in have looked excellent - I like their own brand tea - Kay

They do have an excellent choice of goods for sale. We have an Asda hypermarket not far from us.
