Walmart take-over (Asda)

Disadvantages: shopping is more difficult than it used to be

My local Asda (Minworth West Midlands) is currently undergoing massive changes. I am led to believe that these are as a result of the recent Walmart take-over. Now I have nothing against Walmart as I was very impressed with their stores when I visited the States a few years ago. However Asda is definitely changing for the worse. They have decreased aisle widths, and now stack almost to the ceiling, whilst the beer aisle is now twice as wide but with crates stacked down the middle. They have started stocking several inferior product brands which may only be coincidence but seems to synonymous with the take-over.

I have always found Asda to be a competitively priced shop that made shopping a pleasant experience with easy to get round aisles and good child friendly facilities such as nappy change and a crèche and am saddened to think that this is all changing for the worse. I just hope that the George clothing stays as high in quality and range as I have always found it to be.
