Asda: ASDA-FANTASTIC (479 words)

I do all my food shopping in my local Asda. I find that Asda have a great range at great prices. No I do not work for them. Find that their Farm store Budget range is well worth money. I once heard someone that I work with saying I am going to be glad when we have enough money. So that we can stop eating farm store brand. The value ...  Read the complete review

Impossible to do a quick shop! I like this store and the range of products, both value foods and more luxury items but I can’t possibly do a quick shop at Asda. The clothing department holds me up for a good 15 minutes longer than I would usually spend in a supermarket and always ends up adding to my bill. (Mind you, the prices of their ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Asda: Bigger is not always better ! (513 words)

I had always shopped at ASDA, up until about two months ago, when our local store started it's conversion. Our local Asda (Minworth, Birmingham) was a large store anyway and always very busy, but it was easy to get around and the parent and child parking was always easy to get into ( i have five kids ). That was until they started ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review A good variety (541 words)

My local Asda is next to the Metrocentre in Gateshead. The hypermarket has only been open for one year, before that it was just a lowly supermarket on a different site. I have tried other supermarkets, but I always come back to Asda for the choice and value for money. There is a huge clothes selection designed by George, the ex ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Asda: Grubby and far too big, snotty staff (246 words)
by - written on 01/11/00 (Useful, 33 readings)
Rating:

Asda used to be my local supermarket and I used it because it was closest. I've been to several Asdas around the country and have come away with the same opinion each time. I'm not a big fan of Asda. I've always found them to be on the grubby side - or maybe it's just the colour scheme, yellow. The floor usually has a fair ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review 10% Off Everything. (210 words)

ASDA operate a system whereby the supermarket will accept any “money off” vouchers for products they sell, whether you buy the product or not. This is up to 10% of the total value of your shopping which is a much better discount than you can achieve from any other supermarket discount or points scheme, which usually only ...  Read the complete review

The 'George' clothing range is well known, as Asda's exclusive own clothing lable, and they are pretty impressive. A while ago, if anybody even suggested to me buying my clothes with my groceries I would have flatly refused, but even I have now bought some of their clothes!! They have it all, womenswear, menswear, kids ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review That's Asda price? (134 words)
by - written on 28/10/00 (Useful, 117 readings)
Rating:

Are Asda really the cheapest supermarket out there? Well, I'm sure they're one of them. With loads of HUGE 'hypermarkets' around Britain they are certainly easy to find. You've all seen the adverts, and for me the Asda one is the add that I remember first - because of the slogan 'that's Asda Price'. Tesco advertise also, and so do ...  Read the complete review

Asda: Does it have to be ASDA? (301 words)
by - written on 16/10/00

After seeing all the adverts on the tv about how cheap ASDA is and what good deals they now have following walmart taking them over. I thought I would pay a trip to my local ASDA in Spondon, Derby. I have to agree they have a very good selection of products but on first impressions I found the store to be very dirty looking and very cluttered. ...  Read the complete review

My son Adam has just started school - bless him and like all mums I wanted him to look smart. The polo-shirts at Asda come in a twin pack for just £3.99 - which is half the price of the same thing at BHS. Our school colour is blue and the light blue shirt is a really lovley shade. The material is nice and thick, not like some of ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Asda: It's really good (408 words)
by - written on 13/10/00 (Very useful, 42 readings)

Asda is a great supermarket. They have very friendly personnel, and you can get your weekly shopping at reasonable prices. I, like the lay-out of Asda, at one side they have all the food, and at the other they have the music and George, clothing section. It is well organised, and you can find you’re way round, quite easily. Which ...  Read the complete review

My local supermarket is an Asda, and I visit it most days to pick up essentials for the family, It is in my opinion the best and cheapest supermarket of all the chains. The George clothing range is brilliant and cannot be faulted for fashionable, quality clothing at a resonable price! The childrens and babies clothes are fantastic, and I have ...  Read the complete review

I have shopped at an ASDA in Kent many many times even though it is a considerable journey from my house. Why? Because the quality matched that of other supermarkets but the prices didn't! I am a rational consumer! If I can shop for equivialnet products at a lower price i will. Wouldn't everybody? But I nolonger live in Kent but ...  Read the complete review

I recently heard that Asda – George were having a 15% off everything sale, so I decided to treat myself to some new winter clothes. I am quite a short person at 5’4” and more often than not need to buy shorter leg trousers. However, when I was browsing through the selection of trousers at Asda; there were no short leg ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Asda: Family Favourite (184 words)

Asda is a true family orientated superstore. It is very good value for money especially when compared with its competitors. Take Safeway for example, they have some great “Wow” offers like buy 24 Weetabix for £0.30 (and not to mention my favourite: Hagen Daas for £1.99) That’s a good deal – however when you look at the ...  Read the complete review

Not only a good supermarket for food but their clothes under the name of George has now really come into their own. Although I can say that it is a very good shop and there are bargains galore (although our local doesn't sell clothes)I am concerned about the hygiene aspects. In most supermarkets the staff wear thin rubber gloves when serving or handling the food, this isn't the case in this store. The staff are putting the fresh bread on the ...  Read the complete review

My daughter plays with her GAMEBOY game constantly. The game needs 2 –1.5v AAABatteries to run it. “I think the game must eat them”. We have been buying the top brand batteries in the hope they would last longer. A pack of four of the big name brands (1.5v AAA) cost approx. £5. So we tried the ASDA brand which cost 98p, and ...  Read the complete review
