Advantages: Clothing with attitude - online/offline shopping

Disadvantages: Sometimes limited stock

Attitude Clothing started as an offline clothing company, and although there magazines can often be found as inserts inside rock magazines or such like, they are also known now as an online trading company. They specialise in Rock, Gothic, Punk and Skate clothing, and also provide accessories within these areas.

The Attitude Clothing catalogue covers a huge proportion of the clothing and accessories also available on the online websites, and covers sections such as:

• Band Merchandise
• Gothic Clothing
• Punk Clothing
• Accessories
• Street-wear
• Footwear

The catalogue is very well laid out, and generally starts with the more popular band merchandise section before leading on to the other sections.

Band Merchandise - This generally covers rock, metal and punk bands, and clothing consists of Hooded Tops, T-Shirts, Back Packs, Caps, and additional accessories. During December 2005 I purchased my partner a Slipknot Cargo Rucksack for GBP 32.99, as well as a Queens of the Stone Age T-shirt, and an Atticus (Label) T-shirt for GBP 15.99 each.

Other band names include:

Alkaline Trio, Blink 182, CKY, The Darkness, Deftones, Funeral for a Friend, Good Charlotte, Machine Head, Metallica, Pantera, Soulfly, Trivium, and ten's more of band names.

Gothic Clothing - The Gothic section reminds me of the Matrix, consisting of long black leather coats (around GBP 100), leather trousers, white frilled shirts, crushed velvet dresses etc. Most of these tend to be in the traditional red, black and purple colourings. Also included are Punkrose Shoes and clothing by Poizen Industries.

Punk Clothing - The punk clothing section always brings a smile to my face with its outrageous styles and clothing, within the crazy t-shirts, ripped jeans, and the models pink and black dreadlocked hairstyle.

Streetwear - The skate section tends to cover a reasonable proportion of the catalogue, including brands such as Criminal Damage, Dickies, Ordinary Clothing, Pornstar and many more. Jeans from these labels tend to be around GBP 35-45.

Accessories and footwear etc tend to be dotted about the catalogue depending on the style that the product is meant to be representing. Prices for accessories are very reasonable with pewter pendants, for example in the HIM logo, retail at GBP 7.99, although after purchasing one for my partner noticed that the chain lengths are quite small and would benefit from being a couple of inches longer. Other accessories include lighters, bracelets and belts. Footwear prices are reasonable and tend to vary between GBP 24.99 and £69.99, and cover labels such as Converse, Globe, Madfish, Vans and Macbeth as well as several more popular names.

There is also a size guide inlcuding within the magazine, as well as the sizes available listed next to each product.

I generally know which size I need to order, but on occassion, especially with the cheaper T-Shirts, I tend to order a slightly larger size, as they can appear smaller than standard sizing.

Regardless though I have never had to return or exchange any products so can't comment on this at the moment.

Ordering via the offline catalogue is very easy, and inside each catalogue is a simple order form where the catalogue number needs to be entered as well as description, quantity purchasing and the value. Purchasing & Packing does need to be added.

Payment itself can be made by Credit/Debit card, or cheque, although I tend to order via the online shop as this tends to be quicker and convenient for my lifestyle. You do however need to create an account with Attitude in order to be able to order online, but this is a very quick and simple 5 minute process and enables you to track future orders.

Once Attitude have processed your order, depending upon stock availability your order is generally delivered within 3 working days. I order items via the online route 4 days before Christmas 2005, and they all arrived in time.

Since I started using Attitude Clothing I have never experienced any problems with them. Items have always been in stock and processed and delivered within a timely manner. Sales items hare fantastic, and although these are rarely included in the Catalogues (occasionally in small magazine inserts), offer fantastic bargains, especially considering band t-shirts rarely go out of fashion. The clothing is generally of excellent quality, although a Hooded Top I purchased with the CKY label, in black, has since faded considerably - although wearing it in town the other day prompted someone to ask where they could also purchase one…however purchases from the Atticus range have been of excellent quality and still remain the colour there supposed to be.

I am still waiting for a product I ordered on 19th December, de to high demand the product is out of stock, but I have received 2 e-mails (weekly) from Attitude so far confirming they still have my order, and that they won't charge me until desptach.

I rarely use magazines or catalogues to order products from, finding them tedious and as waste of time, however Attitude Clothing altered this perception, and I hope some of you rockers out there take a look at their website, www.attitude.uk.com or keep your eye out for their catalogues.

Summary: Excellent choice of clothing for the less mainstream music industry

google around a bit before risking an order with this sorry set-up

the only "attitude" you'll find is a poor attitude: a poor attitude to fulfilling orders and a poor attitude to customer service.

do yourself a favour and go to camden lock instead.
