Advantages: Fabulous items, friendly door to door service, great prices.
Disadvantages: Have to wait for items.
I have never had an Avon book come through the door before, and whilst I didn't know too much about it, I imagined it to be full of Lavender soaps and soft musk roll on deodorants. Wow was I wrong !!!!
A lady at work just started out as a Rep for Avon and bought the book in for us to have a look. I was astonished at how modern and fantastic it was.
The book itself is about A5 size and is about half an inch thick. Each page is full of brilliant products for your body and home. The book is divided into sections and has an index to help you find what you are looking for.
There are skincare, fragrance, cosmetics, body care, hair care, kids bath and body, jewelery, nightwear and lingerie, men's bits and bobs and a home section with things like photo frames and vases.
Avon sell a huge range of products to suit every skin type, age and budget. In the book they have pages designed for people with specific skin i.e dry or oily and they also have dedicated ranges for different ages from teenage spot prone skin to their over 60's time delay products.
They really do have something for everyone, I work with about 45 people, men and women from 16 to 64 and everyone was raving about it. The younger girls loved all the glitzy and bright cosmetics, the more mature bought loads of skin care bits, even the guys were joining in buying the men's shower gel (apparently much nicer than Lynx) and deodorants.
The prices - I was amazed at the prices and the brilliant offers they had.
There were deals such as 3 for £5 on hair care and bubbles. There was a deal where you got a free mascara if you bought any other cosmetic item. buy one get one frees and 3 for two were jumping off of almost every page. Even without the deals the prices were competitive with a big bottle of bubble bath being £4 and shampoo £2.50 a bottle. I bought loads of things, (lots of reviews coming up) mainly shampoos, kids bath bits and some foot care things. I have been thrilled with all of them.
The good thing with buying from a rep is that you can place your order and not have to pay for it for a few weeks, this is good so you can have time to save up the money if need be. This is because you do not pay until you get your items. They also have a brilliant policy that if you try something and don't like it you simply give it back to the rep and get your money back - no quibble.
You can order online, however I can't comment on this service as I have never used it.
Summary: Have a look and I am sure you will find something for you !!!

- 04/11/09 I honestly think their skincare range is one of the best out there - really luxurious creams |

- 25/10/09 The jewelery is nice, but it sometimes falls apart. |

I always feel a bit guilted into getting something when I get given an Avon catalogue by someone I know, I suppose that's something that's good for sales in general. |
