Bad service but good products (B&Q)

Advantages: DIY products sold are good

Disadvantages: Very poor customer service, kitchen planning unreliable

I have to say my experience of B&Q has been disappointing to say the least. I live near the Lakeside retail park store so frequent it quite often. First we booked a kitchen planner instore, waited in our house on the agreed day but no-one came. We had to ring up only to be told the guy had gone on holiday!! This seems fairly typical. When actually instore the service is poor. You have to wait ages to be assisted and the staff are not very knowedgeable. The advice they do give is often incorrect-they tried to sell me extremely long 10 cm screws just to put a picture up!! I have seen some of the worst customer service ever in this store-I witnessed a man asking for help to lift a heavy item only to be told by the member of staff "I can't do it, ask someone else" and then the staff member just walked off! So rude! Sometimes it is necessary to visit this store as they do stock lots of useful products, but I dread going.

Summary: A necessary evil!!!
