Advantages: Wide range of goods.

Disadvantages: Cheap but not always.

Having recently moved into a new house, I have visited B&Q more times than most people. I like particularly the building side, where you can buy sand, cement, block paving , flags etc., This is not always available in other B&Q stores and is in fact cheaper.

B&Q really has improved, it does deserve to do well. It has a vast range of almost everything. It's not as cheap as Wicks though, if you are buying basci materials e.g. screws, nails, brackets. Padlock prices in particular for your average garden shed, compare prices, you will be surprised. There is a world of difference in costs in these items. But for the more popular, advertised things they do pretty well.

Their delivery prices are very reasonable, the biggest mistake I have made is to try to avoid it and carry things in the car, largely because I needed it there and then. It is much easier paying the small sum for delivery, it also means someone else is carrying it for you!

It does get busy at weekends though. If you want to be amongst people, have the tannoy system drive you mad. Go on a saturday. There is a constant stream of messages, can ... from the such and such dept please come to the .... Go to the one in Warrington, just off the M62.
