In June 09, impressed by a special half-price offer on bathroom items we purchased a bath, panel, toilet and cistern at a cost of 352 pounds. When the items arrived we discovered the finish on the bath was so thin you could see your hand right through the material, and it seemed as weak as egg-shell. After contacting B&Q they arranged for the ... Read the complete review

Poor Customer Service We had a complaint against B&Q. After waiting 4 weeks for delivery then only notified when the delivery men was outside the building @ 6.50am (supposed to notify evening before) having damaged some carpets with oil from bottom of packaging. 10 days having dust sheets on carpets. Contacted manager from local store who ... Read the complete review

Let's face it, everyone like to dabble a bit in DIY at times. We may not always be successful but we'll always still crack on through the sweat, swear words and depressing problems. Then the time comes when you finish or find out you're missing a bit, and that's when you head for B&Q! B&Q is without a doubt the best DIY ... Read the complete review

Having spent yet another weekend trying to do up my house (where has my social life gone?) I thought it woudl be good to review B&Q, as I currently spend half my life there. Speke and Edge Lane in Liverpool are the ones I go to. B&Q has pretty much everything you can think of in terms of DIY, from paint to whole kitchens. You can get some ... Read the complete review

Had a kitchen installed by B&Q in March 2009. I spent a fortune on the installation because they assured me of quality and minimum inconvenience. It was a disgrace. The 5 days turned into 4 weeks. Left without water for a week. The house was left a mess each night with rubbish all over my garden. The tiling looks like it was ... Read the complete review

I am not too much into DIY and this review is based on a trip to B&Q we made with one of my previous flatmates 3 years ago, things may have changed a bit. We had agreed with our landlord that we would do some cosmetic repairs to our flat and he would refund us in full. Since we would do all the work, we would be able to spend a bit ... I should say at the outset that I am no fan of the DIY chain B&Q, having not set foot in one of their branches since February 2008 when I was verbally reprimanded by one of their members of staff in the Cribbs Causeway, Britsol store, for the offence of letting my young daughter run up and down in the paint aisle while I tried to find the ... I have 2 B&Q stores about 3 miles away from me in opposite directions. One is a larger warehouse the other is a smaller mini warehouse. I have not been in to one of the B&Q supercentres yet. I tend to use the larger warehouse store even though it is slightly further away primarily due to the range and stock levels. I've been in ... Read the complete review

I live 10 miles away from a B&Q Warehouse and work a stones throw from a mini warehouse. For convenience I often use the one local to my workplace, but my heart belongs to the warehouse 10 miles away - why? At the warehouse you get a real sense of the range of product B&Q has to offer, the majority of the products are available ... Read the complete review

This is a great store to get all the things you need for building projects, home, garden and many more. I go there to buy loads of wood to build my homemade roller coaster which is great, they have my type of wood and when i need that time all the way through the project, B&Q will always have that type of wood in stock which is good! They also ... Read the complete review

For all my DIY equipment I end up coming to B and Q as they have a lot of stock available. Their stores are massive inside and you can easily end up getting lost! No wonder they have so many staff around in different sections so customers know exactly where they are going! At B and Q you can buy items such as doors, pipes, new ... Read the complete review

This review is about the B&Q Warehouse in Canterbury, Kent. I have lived in Canterbury for around 18 months now and having moved into a small cottage that needed updating, a trip to a local DY store became a part of my weekend for a number of weeks. Luckily for me, B&Q have one of the warehouse stores located about 1 mile down ... Read the complete review

We live near the megalithic Colchester B&Q warehouse. I haven't visited it all that often as their prices on basic consumables are often very high (for example silicon, masking tape). I used to work in an independent hardware store and know the sort of mark up they must be making on many of these things. However, they do have genuinely good ... Read the complete review

I tried to buy items using the self service - and placed the items in the areas as indicated by the notices. A foreign assistant haughtily told me I had done it all wrong - despite doing exactly what the notices clearly told me to do - and made it clear that other customers never had a problem ie. I must be stupid!
I'm a cybernetics consultant to companies around the world - I am not spending money where assistants have no idea how to talk to the people that pay their wages.
I will spend my money elsewhere in future.

I have to say my experience of B&Q has been disappointing to say the least. I live near the Lakeside retail park store so frequent it quite often. First we booked a kitchen planner instore, waited in our house on the agreed day but no-one came. We had to ring up only to be told the guy had gone on holiday!! This seems fairly typical. When ... B&Q DIY stores are Britains largest DIY superstore, B&Q was founded in 1969 by Richard Block and David Quayle, which is where it gets the name. Step into any nationwide store and you will notice that they are pretty much laid out the same making it easy to find the product you are after. The isles are split up by category, PLUMING, ... I have ordered various things from B&Q for my new kitchen that needed home delivery and on the whole the service has been awful. Firstly the floor. My review is based on my local B&Q store which is Harlow, Essex. We are lucky enough to be a just a few minutes drive from 2 B&Q stores - 1 'normal' size & 1 superstore but it's half a day gone browsing or searching for exactly what I'm looking for & more often than not, I come away emptyhanded.
