Advantages: Plenty of choice, reasonable prices.
Disadvantages: Not all products in stock
As my wedding gets closer it was time to think about purchasing wedding rings...not wanting to spend half of the budget on them we decided to spend the morning in Chester browsing in the various shop windows to gauge which would be the better option and also to see the different styles.
After spending an hour wandering around we decided to go to Beaverbrooks as they seemed to have what we wanted at the right prices.
*~*About Beaverbrooks*~*
Beaverbrooks first began in 1919, offering fine stones and precious metals from around the world to create special jewellery.
*~*Service*~*
As a mystershopper and working in Customer Service I find that to purchase something then there has to be good service before I had over my money and my partner thinks the same so when we looked in the window we had an idea of the rings that we wanted to try.
As my engagement ring is 18ct Gold I had to have an 18ct gold band which meant that there was not as much choice as some of the more sparkly wedding bands set in 9ct gold as it was taking us well above our price range, I decided to try on an 18ct gold wishbone style ring with a touch of white gold and 3 simple diamonds, it looked nice but would it suit my engagement ring....
My partner was not happy about wearing a ring as he never really wears jewellery so he was unsure as to what he wanted and ended up picking a few from the window display.
We entered the shop and there were at least 4 consultants available and we approached one lady who came with us to the window so we could pick out the rings and try them on and we were then taken to a seating area and offered refreshments, tea, coffee or water, this was a nice little touch I thought, as my fingers were starting to swell I opted for a glass of water so that it would cool my hands to allow me to try them on.
The rings we had chosen were brought out to us and we both tried them on and I didn't like any that I had opted for and decided to try just a plain wedding band in 18ct gold, my partner tried on several different styles and ended up with his first option the Bevelled Edge Wedding Ring which looked really nice.
The staff were happy to bring through a selection for us to try on and ensure that we were happy with our decisions, unfortunately for me I opted for a 2mm band which was out of stock in yellow gold so I had to try it in platinum to see if it was the right size and found that it was ideal and just the one that went well with my engagement ring.
As it was out of stock the consultant advised us that he would have to call the manufacturer to ensure that they could get it in 18ct yellow gold for us and to confirm the price, he would then call us on Monday to confirm the price and to see if we were happy to proceed.
We spent about 45 minutes in the store with the consultant trying on all different styles and sizes to ensure that we were making the right decision and then once we had decided we were asked for our contact details and a small deposit was taken to enable them to order the rings for us, the deposit that we made was up to us we could leave £30 or £50 or even more and then we were given a receipt.
It was at this point that another consultant came over to advise that she knew that the ring was available to order and confirmed what the price would be and that they would order it in for us so that we could check it is correct and then we wold be able to pay the balance if we were happy with the rings.
We managed to get the rings we wanted well within budget and we were extremely happy with the service provided to us and they even cleaned my engagement ring for me free of charge as an added bonus and they confirmed that they would also be able to clean it when we collect the wedding rings as well so they would be ready for the big day.
I could not fault the service of the staff in the Chester branch they were knowledgable and attentive to our needs ensuring that any questions we had were answered and if we were unsure on the size they were happy to bring out more selections.
I would definately recommend you to check out Beaverbrooks as they offer a wide selection to anyone looking for wedding rings as well as bracelets, necklaces, watches and earrings.
Summary: A great shop with great service.
