Butter mountain (small) (BHS British Home Stores)
Member Name: J Shakespeare
Advantages: None Disadvantages: Many My wife and I recently visited BHS Restaurants in both Leeds and Rotherham. On both occasions we purchased drinks and scones and were given one pat of butter for each scone which would have been hard pressed to cover a postage stamp. When we asked for more we were informed that each additional microscopic portion of butter would cost 15p (Leeds) and 12p (Rotherham). By my calculation, this makes butter marginally cheaper than gold and plutonium. But hard on its heels must come BHS jam, which is priced 35p per eye-glass full. Summary: Butter prices scandal |
