Advantages: Good selection of gifts and stock.

Disadvantages: too many staff pestering shoppers for cards!

Usually I quite enjoy shopping within Bhs, particularly at Christmas and for Birthday presents, however my opinion of the store has gradually decreased. Me and my husband visited the White Rose branch for a few gifts and holiday clothes, we went to the 'home' ware depertment first where we found a nice light for my mother-in-law, upon closer inspection it was very damaged and wasnt any use, so i left it, however the person who was aiding me told me 'i will knock 10% off if you open a card'. At this point i left for downstairs, without opening the card. from getting my items and going to the till, 4 people asked me to open a card! 4 people! Isnt this harrassment!? I asked to speak to a manager, 3 people on the womens wear team floundered in a state of panic at this, and took 5 mins for one of them to ring, when someone finally answered, i got told 'oh shes busy can you come back'.
It's safe to say bhs has lost my custom, and if they spent more time on customer service and less selling that ridiculous card they may see profit margins increase! All the staff looked bored, un motivated and sick of this so called card. Whats happened to the old bhs everyone loved?
