British Home Stores has been around as long as I can remember on my local high street. It is now called BHS for short and the store has not changed much in the time I have been going there.

The shop sells mostly clothing with a baby range up to kids and teenagers as well as men's clothing. The biggest section of clothing and fashion is for ladies wear.

Some of the clothes in BHS can be a bit old fashioned and are suited to older ladies but not all of the clothes are like this and I buy quite a lot from their as I like the styles. The shoes and handbags are well made and last well which is good value for money.

The BHS near me has a large homeware section to but this is usually only in large branches of BHS and smaller branches just seem to sell clothes.

The homewares department sells good items like bedding and towels and kitchen items etc. there are also items for bedrooms like lamps and rugs. All of the items are usually of a good quality but are a bit dearer than some other shops on the high street. The quality in BHS is usually better than a lot of stores though.

At Christmas time there are good gifts to buy in BHS and these are such things as toiletries sets and toys and alcohol gifts. They are good value for money and I always visit the store when doing my xmas shopping as they have some nice gifts.

The largest branch of BHS that I know has two floors and the downstairs has a small bride department which has flower girl dresses and tiaras and things for sale. There are also a few wedding dresses on display and these are much cheaper than buying your bridal wear from a bridal shop. I have seen brides maid dresses for about £150 which is a great value price.

I would suggest giving the shop a visit if there is one near you. I like the quality of the items and even though some of the styles of clothing are quite old fashioned it is not all like that and there are some lovely clothes that can be found. The prices are a bit dearer than some shops on the high street but I think the quality in BHS is a bit better so this is good for me.
