WHAT ON EARTH IS BHS? In case you have been away on a different planet for the past 70 years, BHS stands for British Home Stores. It is a retail outlet that sells ladies, gents, babies and children?s clothes. They also sell house wares but not on the scale of Ikea. Here?s a bit of useless information that will ultimately change your life ? ... Read the complete review

Now I had a voucher to spend on £150 of clothes, I could have got it for Top shop or Evans as I am good size 18. Top shop a bit too trendy for me. Evans at their prices I would be able to afford a pair of knickers never mind a few items of clothing. So I decided to opt for the middle of the road store. BHS was born in Brixton in ... BHS has been with us for years and is probably familiar to you as the shop where your mum bought you underwear. Very often, people compare BHS with Marks & Spencers but this isn't really very fair. The fact is, BHS is very different from Marks. Obviously, compared to other department stores, BHS has a relatively smaller range. This is ... Read the complete review

BHS is your typical mother or grandmother store.... my mum used to shop there for clothes but i have persuaded her to go to more hip and modern stores. my nan shops there though. This gives you an idea of the clothes they have. Most of the clothes are long flowery skirts, white blouses and knitted cardigans. but if you look carefully there ... Read the complete review

As a member of staff in the Swindon Bhs restaurant i felt i had to give my own opinion. I think that people often overlook what is good in the store because thay are too obsessed with whats not so good. I believe, as someone that cooks the food, that Bhs's food is of a good standard. You also get a good size portion for the price ... Read the complete review

British Home Stores seems to be undergoing a bit of a rennaisance lately. Sales are up, Marks and Spencer now (allegedly) consider them their main competitor and somehow, while nobody was looking, they are turned from the purveyor of lemon cardigans for your Nan to a store for anyone and everyone. Thank God that they haven't improved ... Read the complete review

The title of this piece should read like a joke - as that is what their range of bridal wear is. BhS stopped their bridal wear range some time ago following multiple scandals of dresses not turning up on time, sizes being permanently out of stock etc.... After a short breathing space they have relaunched the bridal range but this time it appears ... Read the complete review

For many years I have looked upon British Home Stores as being a bit old-fashioned as far as clothes are concerned, at least in ladies fashion. Teenagers fashion was much better though. I therefore didn't set foot much in there once my daughter became 16 or so. However, I feel I have to write this opinion about their cafe. Myself ... Read the complete review

Maybe it is just because I am getting married this year and seem to be surrounded by brides- and grooms-to-be, but it seems that weddings are back in fashion. There are to be 4 weddings within the next 12 months among the staff of 18 in the department where I work and one colleague was invited to 3 weddings in June (2 on the same day) and ... Bhs is quite a cheap shop except when it comes to gifts such as candles and toiletries, the quality is quite good although not so good as M&S(Marks is horrible though). At Christmas time my ... BHS -British Home Stores, is a shop I never would've imagined finding clothes in. I know it's a bit snobby but I used to go past it and go it's just for old women. One day I was proven wrong when my friend gave me BHS vouchers, I decided to have a look and came out with three tops and a lovely pair of trousers. I would never have ... Read the complete review

Why is it that even though BHS stores are always large, I can never find anything that sparks any excitement? Hey, I'm no fashion victim, but this place gets worse every time I go near it. I'm not looking for another Topshop or Miss Selfridge, but a bit more variety wouldn't hurt would it? I know I'm only 22, but I would ... Read the complete review

Recently I ventured into the new Bhs store in town and boy was I surprised. The store we have is newly built so it is spacious, clean, well stocked, well lit and the staff are really polite, pleasant and even human. the best points I have found are 1/ The aisles are well spaced for buggies and wheelchairs 2/ The shelves and rails are well ... If your looking for something different for christmas go to BHS. I know it sounds sad but there are some extremly funny items for sale that would entertain the whole family! First up is the "fart alarm". When you press the button it says (Very loudly?!) "Warning, Warning...Fart alert...Evacuate the building!" This is a ... Read the complete review

I have bought a few nice items of clothing from BHS, but I really feel that they are let down by the truly shoddy quality of their clothes. Last year I bought a dress in BHS, when I washed it I followed the washing instructions to the letter. I was therefore a tad surprised when the dress came out of the machine with large patches on it where the ... Read the complete review

Almost every weekend, I will definitely visit this store in Arndale Centre in Manchester. Want to know the reason? It is really simple, looking for bargain products to buy. It has the same style as Mark and Spencer but the price is reasonable and cheaper. The quality is extremely good and most fashion is up to date. There is always excellent sales ... A BHS has recently opened in my town and I’m not hugely impressed. Don’t get me wrong it’s okay and there’s nothing hugely wrong but it’s just the same as every other department store and not even as good. The clothes are often out of fashion by a few months (common in M&S) but this doesn’t really bother me ... Read the complete review

I have recently visited the BHS Sale and bought my two year old daughter some beautiful clothes. I bought a couple of dresses for £1.49 each some T.Shirts for 99p and some shorts for 99p. This really impressed me as they have washed up so well and can go in the tumble dryer with no problems. I found there ordinary range to be a bit over priced ... Read the complete review

After having a baby nearly a year ago, I was on the look out for an outfit for a wedding and had searched everywhere and although I like to look nice, it neednt be the latest trends as long as it suits me. Well everything in the shops seemed to be designed for someone who had never had a baby (or it felt like that to me anyway), ... Read the complete review

I've never been one to cause a scene in shops, but about a year ago, I found myself the centre of attention in a BHS customer services department. I was mooching through one of their sales racks when I came across a top that was just perfect for the occasion I had in mind. It was under a sign that said all items had at least £5 off. ...
