Advantages: Will make your little girl feel so special.

Disadvantages: Be prepared for your little girl to become very bossy as she takes on the role of being a princess.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique (what a wonderful name!) is where little girls are turned into beautiful princesses.

I wanted to plan something special for my daughter for when we were going to Florida last April. I came across Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and couldn't resist booking my daughter in. It was a truly magical experience that I will always remember and hope my daughter who was 4 ½ at the time will remember it too.

There are two boutiques in Disneyworld, one is situated in the Disney Store, Downtown Disney the other at Cinderella Castle, Magic Kingdom. The one my daughter went to was in Downtown Disney. We booked a morning appointment to really make the most of the day, it meant my daughter would have the full day to be a princess.

There are three packages to choose from for girls aged 3yrs and over -

Coach Package starts from $49.95 + Tax, this includes hair style and shimmering make-up, you would need to bring your own princess costume for this one.

Crown Package starts from $54.95 + Tax, same as Coach Package but includes nails.

Castle Package starts from $189.95 + Tax, includes the Crown Package as well as a photo package and complete disney costume of your choice with accessories.

There are three hair styles to choose from, Fairytale Princess, Disney Diva and Pop Princess.

My daughter had the Castle package and opted for the Fairytale Princess hair style. On arrival we took my daughter round all the princess dresses in the Disney Store so she should pick what princess she wanted to be, there was so much to choose from, every Disney princess outfit you could imagine was there, she would see one dress and say "I want that one" then would move along to the next and say she wanted that one so it is a tough choice for a little girl. I made a point of looking at the shoes that went with each costume as I knew she would be wearing them all day and wanted her to be comfortable and this helped in deciding what costume to pick. My daughter decided she wanted to be transformed into Princess Aurora (Sleeping Beauty). I took a mental note of what size of shoe and costume she would need. The shoes were a slipper type shoe with an elasticated strap so I was happy with that. I strongly recommend you arrive at least half an hour before your appointment to allow yourself time to choose a costume as it is the first thing they ask you when you go to the desk to let them know you are there.

On arrival at the desk just outside the boutique you are greeted by the Fairy Godmother who takes your details. My daughter's name is Abbie and as soon as the Fairy Godmother had her name she was immediately known as Princess Abbie and the experience really began. We were taken inside the boutique where there were lots of Fairy Godmothers working away turning little girls into princesses. We were shown into a changing room where I got Abbie changed into her costume. A Fairy Godmother brings everything you need - costume, shoes, wand and tiara. Once dressed Abbie was taken to a chair, more of a pink throne than a chair. Two Fairy Godmothers began fussing over Abbie, They put a pink apron over her like the ones you get in hairdressers and started doing her hair. They used gel in her hair and combed her hair back into something similar to a bun but it wasn't a bun, it was much nicer and wish I knew what it was called to explain it better. The bun-like feature was quite high up at the back of her head and they secured a little tiara in front of it. The tiara itself was beautiful, silver, crown shaped with little sparkly pink and diamond looking stones. The gel they used had glitter through it, therefore Abbie was really beginning to sparkle. Abbie's hair was hard to the touch from the gel they used, it was more like a glue than a gel but at least I knew it would last all day. Please note that you have to provide your own brush and comb.

Next Abbie had her make-up done - lip-gloss, eye-shadow and blusher. The whole time the Fairy Godmothers were fussing over her and calling her Princess Abbie. She got to choose what colours of make-up she wanted and chose a sparkly flower shaped face decoration which they placed on her cheek. Abbie chose her nail-varnish too, pink of course, do little girls like any other colour?

The whole time Abbie was being transformed she was facing away from the huge mirror behind her. When the Fairy Godmothers were finished they removed the apron from Abbie and turned the chair round to reveal the mirror to Abbie and let her see what she looked like. If you ever experience this it might just bring a tear to your eye. Abbie looked like and felt like a princess and was extremely happy with how she looked, she really did believe she was a real princess. She did look beautiful. Oh, they also placed a pink bibbidi bobbidi boutique sash over her shoulder, like the ones the winner of Miss World would wear.

You are allowed to take your own photographs and use a camcorder during the whole experience which is great given that so many places are very strict and wouldn't allow this. The Boutique is very noisy as there are a lot of excited little girls getting make-overs. I even witnessed an adult getting a makeover too! As you leave you are given a little bag with 2 cute glass bottles of nail varnish, a make up pallate, lip gloss and pretty stick-on face decorations.

As we had booked the castle package the next stop was the photography. We were given directions where to go and headed over. After the photographer has taken the photos you look at them on a computer screen. This is the hard part trying to choose which ones. You are allowed to pick three different ones and you are given your favourite one in a princess themed cardboard photo holder, the photo is 6 inches by 8 inches. You also get two each of the other two you have picked, 4 inches by 6 inches.

We decided to go to Magic Kingdom Park as we felt it would complete the whole Princess day. The cast (what they call their workers) made a fuss of Abbie by saying things like "a real princess", "good afternoon ma'am" and curtseying in front of her. I think it is a good idea to plan what you are going to do to keep the full day special for your little one.

If your little princess has a brother they can have a cool dude package which includes colourful hair gel and confetti (no idea what they do with the confetti) for $7.50 + tax.

They also do a Hannah Montanna makeover for older girls but I have to say is no where near as impressive as the Princess ones.

I reserved the experience with the boutique a couple of months before I went as was worried that it would be fully booked. I phoned this number 4079397895 to book. It was very busy so am glad I did. You give them credit card details to secure your booking then pay on the day. I was lucky that the exchange rate was really good, the package cost me around £100. You can book a cheaper package and bring your own costume and accessories to save money and have an equally great day.

It was such a special day that I wish all little girls could experience.

Summary: A wonderful magical day for girls to become beautiful princesses

Sounds terrifying, but I'm sure that the little princesses would enjoy it :-D
