Advantages: Good quality at cheap prices
Disadvantages: none
Ok so the store I'm going to tell you about isn't really a book store , but I couldn't find a appropriate place to put this new little opinion of mine but I wanted to share it will you . Happy Valentine's day all ! So where did you all but that someone special a card ??? And ( dare I ask) without offending you , How much did you pay for it ? Well if you had visted Birthday , the card shop them you probablly would have saved about 2 pounds more than the rest off all the suckers out there ( opps was that blunt ). Bithday has to best the best quality card shop , with helpful staff , unbeatable prices and something for everyone (ew oh no I'm sounding like one of those corney adverts again ). Ok I bought my beloved over half a large card ( about 30cm in length ). The card was good quality and had a usual heart/ valentine front cover and message that wasn't so sickly that you heave . It also had a cool badge , with a few words on it - I'm not going to tell you what said ;) Here's the bit thats you've all been on the edge of your seats waiting for , the price . It only cost 99p ( don't tell the mrs ).You'd pay 4 pounds for a similar sized card of similar quality in Clinton cards . The best thing about birthdays it that they stock a great range of cards for every occasions , not just birthdays as the shop name might lead you to believe . ************* STAR BUYS ***************** My favourite section of the shop is the *star buy* section ( being a scrooge - a quality that has remained with me since my student days off living on Tesco value bread and beans ) Ok so get on with it you're saying . Ok OK well the star buy section has cards for 69p for every occasion , they are actually really good quality and have pretty decent front covers . These star buy cards have an extensive range so there is a card for every occasion and everyone . I a
lways buy general cards from this range .You save so much money in the lomg run , and they look like the regular 2-3 ounds card that you would purchase in Clinton cards or WH Smiths . Also avaliable in the *star buy * . They also have pretty decent Valentine's cards in the star buy section to , so bear in mind for the love/s of your life next year . Also in the star buy section is wrapping paper a roll costs 69p . Individual wrapping costs 39p and matching tags are 15p . I was a bit dubious at first as I thought the paper would tear easily on the edges of sharp boxes ( all those purfume boxes for the missus ) . Suprisingly the paper is really quite strong and there is an extensive range of colours and also a good choice of occassion paper . It's worth remembering the star buy section at christmas for cards , tags and wrapping paper .Only 10 months to go , which means the shops will probably putting their dectorations up soon as usual . Does that bug everyone or is it just me ??? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Gifts $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Well there is a darn site more to bithday than paper and cards . They have tons of gift ideas from teddy's of all shapes and sizes , to keyrings to mugs . They also have a loads of gifts glasses etc and ornaments for the special occasions like weddings , 18th and 21st 40th and 50th birthdays. They also have the usual soft toys for kids , we got a super little soft noisy telephone for our tot it cost 4.99 , they have some great baby toys at really reasonable prices . Don't buy the telephone though out tot is allways setting hers off and it sounds just like our phone ringing ( the bells the bells !!!) and now we've got permenent ringing of the ears . ************ Stocking fillers *********** Birthdays is an ideal place to buy stocking fillers . Its got a load of nick naks and toys for under 2 pounds , like furry pens animal purses and stickers . As well as car sticke
rs , keyrings , pen sets and calenders for the more mature folk who still put a stocking out for santa. If your stuck for gift ideas visit birthday and your be sorted . They also sell stamps which is really hand on a saturday afternoon when the post office is closed .
