Advantages: They have films

Disadvantages: Sullen staff, high prices

Blockbuster Video stores are not for me. As a member you sporadically get a small mailing sent, detailing the latest releases and also enclosing 2 or 3 money off vouchers for video or playstation rental. Great, £1 off the £3.50 they usually charge sounds really good to me. Only have any of you actually tried to redeem these vouchers? Well, my husband has and he was told that it wasn't accepted in our local store - how ridiculous is that? Surely if they send out vouchers they should be redeemable at all their stores.

Also we've had problems with the videos we've rented. One was blank (!), one got stuck in our machine and another one finished 10 minutes before the actual film did. On all of these occasions we went back to complain, fully expecting to receive an apology, a working tape of the film we'd hired and a free rental. Well, no apology and no free rental - not much of a customer service is it?

I don't use them anymore, I have a little video chap that delivers straight to my door, he's much more ameniable (and cheaper!!)

I used to work in BBV (as I mentioned somewhere else)and the place makes you depressed - it is true what nwheatstone wrote - customers complain about everything and anything constantly and the staff get abuse from all sides - customers and managers - about everything. Go easy on the poor staff! Apart from your op was good and was so true!! :0)

Does anyone else's Blockbuster only employ people who pass some sort of gormlessness test?

hey, minimum wage and a steady stream of customers demanding refunds because the film has...shock...subtitles / a plot / not enough explosions...wouldn't you get a little bit weary? Watch Clerks. You'll understand.
