Advantages: Convenient
Disadvantages: Prices
Blockbuster is a rental shop where you can rent out DVDs and games.
I stopped using Blockbusters about two years ago when I joined an online dvd rental website. Blockbusters was definitely an easier way to rent out dvds, that was because you didn't have to wait for your dvd to arrive, but I found the prices in the shop to be very expensive compared to online renting where you always found plenty of offers.
** The good bits about Blockbuster**
Blockbusters are a convenient way to watch dvds without having to buy them. Most people only tend to watch a dvd once (well I do), so find renting is better value for money.
I have started using my local Blockbusters store again to rent out TV box sets. I started to rent these online but found I was getting disc 2 or 3 before disc 1, which was very silly. I then noticed Blockbuster stock a wide range of box sets, Prison Break, 24, Sex and the City, Friends to name a few. These are charged at £5 and you can keep them for 7 nights.
If you are a Blockbusters member you will usually be sent offers in the post, a new rental for £1, or game rental offers, these are very good value for money, especially because new releases are usually charged at £3.95 for 1 night.
I usually always find Blockbuster have great deals on popcorn, chocolate, ice cream, sweeties, and drinks if you buy a DVD. They stock a wide range of treats for snacks during your movie.
** The bad bits about Blockbusters**
The prices need to come down. I pay £4.99 a month for 3 rentals with my online subscription, this is a great deal compared to Blockbusters £3.95 per DVD, so I'm saving a £6.86 a month.
The late payment charges are another thing putting people renting from Blockbusters. You never get late payment fees online, so it's a really bad charging customer's an extra £3.95 for not returning your DVD on time.
**Overall**
Even though Blockbusters is definitely getting better with deals, and great offers, it's definitely not at the same level as online dvd rental companies. Make sure you look around for offers before going to Blockbusters, the prices really are a shocker.
However, the staff at my local blockbusters are always very friendly and happy to help find a particular dvd if I'm stuck. I can't fault the customer service staff at all, its just shame about the prices.
Summary: Rent out tv box sets
