I absolutely love the blockbuster online service when it first started. There were so many exciting perks that it was well worth the $15 a month it cost at the time. This membership allowed you to have three movies at your house allowed you an unlimited amount of in store trade ins at the blockbuster store. Meaning you could take the DVD's that were mailed to your home and trade them in for a blockbuster DVD rental, however when you do use your mailed DVD's to trade in for in store DVD rentals you have to remember that the blockbuster return policy applies to the rentals you get from blockbuster, so if you don't return them within the required time frame late fees will apply to you. This confused me at first, I assumed since I was part of blockbuster online that the rentals from the store had the same rules as the rentals in the mail of no late fees ever. I found this lesson out the hard way. However, after this one time mistake I learned and returned my DVD's on time and was very happy with this awesome perk of the blockbuster online membership.

I had been upgraded by blockbuster for free at one point to have an extra DVD at home, meaning I could have 4 DVD's at home for the same price as 3, however, when I received an email telling me that Blockbuster was jacking up this price to $29.99 from the $15 a month I was paying and changing the blockbuster in store trade in policy to only 5 trade ins a month I decided this service was not worth the money. I decided to switch to Netflix which was over $10 cheaper than blockbuster and you get 3 DVD's at home and you can watch unlimited movies and tv shows on Netflix's website. You don't have to pay to watch the movies or television series online like you do on the blockbuster site.

Another reason I stopped using blockbuster was because I moved farther away from a blockbuster store making it completely not worth $30 a month to be able to trade in 5 movies a month from the blockbuster store and still have the same amount of rentals at home that Netflix would allow you for around $18 a month. So, while blockbuster does have good service and some convenient perks inflated price with a downgrade of services is just not worth it.
