Advantages: Cheap, fast, easy, can cancel at any time.

Disadvantages: The cost, it's not too bad but it's a direct debit so risks being forgotten.

BlockBuster charge a monthly subscription fee of between £4.88 and £14.67. The default package costs £12.71 and lets you borrow any number of DVDs in a month with a maximum of two titles out at a time.
The lead time is extremely short: in 2 days they will have received your used films and you will have received new ones.
Postage is free and they supply addressed envelopes, they also take responsibility for anything lost in transit.
The website is very useful: you can search for titles or browse by genre and they have customer reviews of the films. You build a list of titles you want to see and they automatically send you the next on the list.
I only stayed for the 1 month free trial (with we promise to cash back) but in that time I watched as many films as was literally possible and never had any problems with DVDs being out of stock.
The vast majority played perfectly - there were 2 exceptions, one only needed a clean and the other I had to skip a scene.
I never needed to contact customer services.
If you just want the free trial you can cancel the day before billing and they then give you 7 days to have returned your last rentals.
Cancelling is fast and easy and can be done completely online with a few clicks.
Overall BlockBuster offer a smooth and easy service. The price is good (the best value for a film a week costs £7.82 which is £1.96 a film).
Of the rental services I have been paid to try this is the one I might consider continuing.
