Advantages: rent the latest games/videos

Disadvantages: can be a bit expensive

Blockbuster is now both an online and offline rental store which allows you to rent DVD's , Blu Ray discs and video games. I have yet to use the online version of the rental store so cannot really comment on how good that service is but it allows you to order dvds to rent which are posted to you and you can choose to post them back like other similr services such as lovefilm.com.

In store they have a wide range of dvds and blu ray discs available and also a wide selection of video games which include the latest game titles on the market available for rental on consoles such as Xbox, PS3 and Nintendo Wii.The games tend to be most of the more recent ones whereas the dvd's tend to have a much wider range with alot of older titles.

To become a member here and get your blockbuster membership card you need to bring two forms of identity which can be a utility bill and driving licence/passport. You will need to fill out a few forms I believe and you become a member and can start renting.

They charge around £3.95 per rental title but this only applies to the newest titles. The older rental titles will be cheaper .When Blockbuster are done with many of their rental films, they usually sell them. You can get some great bargain deals for under £5 at times so is worth checking out.You should make sure you give your rentals back on time here as they do overcharge you if you don't.

Blockbuster also sell some food like popcorn and snacks but I would not recommend buying there as they tend to be heavily overpriced.

I don't use blockbuster that much these days as I have found quite a lot of bargains online buying dvds either on ebay or sites like play.com. I don't mind waiting to get a movie until it is less popular and the price drops a bit. It is though still a great place to go to check the latest releases and rent them for much cheaper than buying when they come out on dvd. Also good to check out the latest games and rent them.

Summary: best place to rent films and games
