Disadvantages: rental for many titles almost the same price as the DVD itself

There used to be a time when video rental shops were popular, this was over ten years ago. Recently with high speed broadband internet, it is now possible to download a film or stream a move off the internet.

Walk into any Blockbuster video store and it's like visiting a museum. My localk Blockbuster has a range of DVD's and games available to rent but the whole appearance of the shop just looks tatty and unappealing. The prices are also a bit high and there's little incentive to go there to browse the titles. DVD's cost a few pounds to rent however in recent years DVD's have generally come down in price. There used to be a time when it cost £20 for a DVD rental so a few pounds to rent a DVD from Blockbuster didn't seem too bad. Today a DVD is released and not before long can be purchased for a fraction of a price on Ebay.

Many years ago I used to rent videos regularly from Blockbuster however now with the internet spending a few pounds to rent a DVD when it can be purchased second hand just for a little more makes it less than worth it.
