Advantages: Good rewards system; a branch in every town
Disadvantages: Can be pricy
Boots is a popular high street pharmacy. Look around any small medium or large town and there will be at least one branch.
Smaller stores will obviously have a more limited range of products than larger stores, but all stores will provide a base of pharamceutical products; basic products such as toothpaste, shampoo and soap.
Larger stores can in addition provide eye testing and glasses; even now ear testing and hearing aids; camera shop with processing of photographs including digital photographs and vitamins/supplements.
One advantage of Boots is the Advantage card - each time you purchase a product you are awarded points and the points do really build up quite quickly. When you have a certain number of points you can then make a purchase using them. I find myself frequently now being able to buy products using my accumulated points.
That said, Boots is not the cheapest of similar stores and often supermarkets will provide similar items at a more competitive rate, however look out for the special offers - these are frequent and I find them to often be on ranges that interest me and are popular, eg Colgate toothpaste, Palmolive shower gel etc.
I particularly like the meal deal - any snadwich drink and snack fo £2.99 - making a substantial saving. And if you buy 5 in any one month, you get a 6th free.
Summary: Look out for special offers
