Advantages: friendly staff, advantage card, special offers

Disadvantages: slightly more expensive

Although I cannot speak for every Boots store in Britain,I can say in my experience Boots offer a great service.Reading some of the other ops on this subject I would say in general this is true.
In Inverness there are two Boots stores, onw in the town, which is highly convenient and another outside the town in a retail park which I visit less frequently.
Most larger Boots Stores sell not only the basic toiletries and cosmetics but often have a photo developers and chemists and some sell snacks. Some also have cosmetics counters from ranges such as Clinique and Lancome.
The price for photo development is slightly higher than average(about 5.99 for a colour film 24 prints) but service is quick and efficient.
The chemists,in my experience are very helpful.Offering not only the branded names but cheaper options too,the staff seem to have the real needs of consumers in mind.
Of all the things Boots sells, cosmetics are my main interest.Prices are reasonable, especially products in Boots own 17 range, which has unusual and interesting colours. My local store has at least 12 different cosmetic ranges to choose from and staff are always willing to help you choose the best product for you.I have even convinced them to help me choose products to recreate a "Marilyn Manson" look from a magazine picture before.
One of the best incentives to shop at Boots are its reward system "Advantage card" and special offers.Advantage offers 4 points for every £1 spent, with every point being worth 1pence to be redeemed on other goods.Extra bonus points are always being offered on certain products and discounts can be gained by putting the card in an Advantage point and getting coupons.
Boots always has other offers such as buy two get one free,so it is great for saving money.
The staff are always knowledgable and willing to take time to help out,and given the option I always shop in Boots where possible.

I like the products, but in the stores round my way the staff always seem to be miserable, and the service is not very good. Don't like the new whiter-than-white image either.

The buy 2 get 1 free idea is very good, a lot of stores now do this including Superdrug.
Cheers
