Advantages: great deals, cheap presents and something for everyone.
Disadvantages: can get untidy at busy periods. Can be expensive other times of year
I have decided that this year I will start getting Christmas presents early and have started looking amongst the shops locally.
Last year after Christmas in the sales I noticed that Boots did a great range of presents and they were 3 for 2 so this year I decided to start early and purchase everyone's presents in Boots. I end to think that for things such as CDs and DVDs I tend to get these online at places like play.com as these are best but for novelty gifts and toiletries Boots is ideal.
I went into Boots the other day and managed to spend £70 and now I have everyone's gifts. I bought a digital frame, helicopter alarm clock, fajita set, wok set, a selection of toiletries and makeup for the missus, crackers, tinsel, wrapping paper and cards. What an amazing amount of stuff for under £100 so I am now ready for Xmas and everyone will get a gift they like.
This time of year Boots tends to get so busy with shoppers keen to bag a bargain so I did find it quite difficult to browse amongst bargain hunters, especially as it was half term and there were kids everywhere. The aisles seemed quite untidy and the staff were rude.
I asked one assistant if she had seen a digital photo frame/alarm clock and she replied "if it's not around here then no buy it online" well that's not very helpful, if I had wantedto get everything online then I would have stayed home, still the tills were queed right back but the staff quickly got through everyone and my wait was reduced to only 3 minutes, not bad really.
I also find that by using my partner's card I have given her many points 280 + 1000 for a bonus for spending over £50. So in total 1280 points = £12.80 to spend after Christmas!
Take a look this Christmas - what bargain can you find?
