Advantages: none
Disadvantages: prices keep going up, poor admin/customer service, 'trained monkeys' and 'typewriters' comes to mind
At first, I actually thought they were quite good. Their starting offer wasn't bad, although I did have to order it twice before they realised that they had a new customer trying to get in! Now, however, I have a problem. A while ago, they billed me for an item that I hadn't ordered or received. I contacted them, complained, and finally convinced them that they had made a mistake. They cleaned out my account history while they were fixing the error. Now, I know I've met my commitment to them. In fact, I've exceeded it, and I want to cancel my membership. But, their records say that I haven't ordered a thing - even my starting offer doesn't appear in their records! (You would think that would mean that I hadn't joined, but...) So I can't leave without them charging me for a starting offer that they have no record of, but apparently costs about £50. During the brief time that I thought their video club was quite good, my wife joined their music club. She's had nothing but problems - usually bills appearing for items which haven't been ordered or delivered! The latest is one that says she owes £18.25 'from previous statement balance' (the previous statement had a balance of zero). However, their web site says that her balance is zero. She hasn't ordered anything in over 3 months, and all the recommended recordings have been canceled. The bill also says that if she doesn't pay in 14 days, it'll be handed over. What nice people. Don't think I'll recommend them...

- 12/07/02 This is OK as far as a complain goes but a bit more detail would be useful about the services offered by Britannia for those who are not familiar with them. |
