Advantages: can shop from home, some bargains,
Disadvantages: can be problems, lots of errors
Having read all the previous opinions I too can empathise with all that has been said. My main problem with Brittania was the fact they kept sending me requests even when i had sent back the form cancelling them, somehow they have always just posted them! Anyway I have been a member of Brittania for 10 years now and i decided that there were benefits and i would like to remain a member, so i called them and if you do just this you can ask them not to send you each months recommended and instead just the catalogue. This means that as long as you fulfil any obligartions that you have to them you can broswse at your leisure rather than being so irritated that you never want to buy from them. I know this may sound simple, but it is amazing how much less stress as i have had and how probably the number of orders i make has probably increased.

- 19/10/00 I contacted Britannia (via email) requesting they cease all recommmended recordings to me, I was told that upon completing the initial commitment they can upgrade my account to stop these sendings, plus they send extra free CD's and various other 'perks', some sort of "Gold Card Membership" type scheme. I cannot find the details anymore in my email inbox, but it is possible only after the original commitment has been met. |

- 15/08/00 No I've still got several full price CDs to buy but there's nothing I want. I understand why they do send Editor's choice, but to constantly irritate their customers when they send it when it's not required can't be a good way of keeping them and they won't be recommended to others. What I meant was if it has happened to a particular customer on more than 2 occasions when they've been sent something they particular didn't want (either because they cancelled it or did not receive notification), then some sort of apology or compensation now and again would be welcomed. |

- 06/08/00 Have you fulfilled your contract with them to buy so many cds/videos yet?? We have been with them for 10 years or so and i guess don't owe them anything any more. I know they definitely agreed to do it for us, as we now only recieve the catlogue and although it states the editors choices they never send us any after agreeing not to. We just buy when we need to.
I think that if they let everyone keep the cd's that they sent them by mistake then they would be bankrupt as everyone I know seems to have had the same thing happen to them on a number of occasions!I think it may be their own marketing ploy, send things out anyway and people will be so irritated and so busy that they will just keep them! |
