Budgens

Budgens is small store that I and I am sure others mainly use for its convenience. Where I live Budgens is within walking distance so I do find myself getting any essentials I need from there. I find it great for getting any last minute bits you have forgotten but I try not to use it for my regular weekly shop, the reason being is the price, they do usually have some products that offer good value but on the whole I find them quite expensive compared to the likes of Tesco and Sainsbury's. It is Sunday afternoon, my husband is at work so has the car, buses at the weekend are few and far between, and I have just put the last of the milk in my coffee, and realised that there is nothing for packed lunches for school tomorrow, plus the cat is about to have the last pouch of cat food...... .....thank goodness we have a Budgens in our village! I was amazed and very happy when finally the local store budgens arrived, no more going all the way to Tesco for some bread and milk. Anyway that unfortunately seems to be all they are good for, don't get me wrong most of their stuff is good and they sell a few different products. Even though this store still seems quite expensive. Although it seems like most of their products get thrown around before it goes onto the shelf. The ice cream always seems like it has been defrosted beforehand and all the ice lollies are sticky and stuck together, which isn't very nice sticking your hands in the freezer. I have read many reviews slagging off Budgens for it's grumpy staff and the big till queues. I am goign to review it from a staff point of view, and then review the shopping experience Well here is an 18 year old checkout boy who works for a small town branch (wont say where!) , and i will now explan why we are so grumpy. I visit budgens very occasionally if I forget some thing at tesco?s or happen to be in the centre of the s town I live in. It is not my supermarket of choice. As this is a town centre supermarket it is only small. I have not seen a large budgens anywhere. Most of the budgens I know are on housing estates or in villages. I do not drive so it is fairly convenient for me if I only want one or two things. Usually when I go into budgens. I see mainly older people so maybe I am assuming its because it is town centre and not an out of town supermarket where you have got to have a car to get to it.
