C&ANewest Review: ... gifts for pocket money prices and then there was also the chance to buy clothing for family members as gifts without breaking the piggy bank. Even when I was a teenager I would scour for bargains at C&A. Got a lovely tight fitting black and white zip up top when I was 14 which still lives in the wardrobe! And alas my last ever bargain my £10 baggy jeans, which I still wear to this day as they are so comfy and long lasting.... why oh why? I'll miss C&A so much ... more |

I absolutely adored this store from day one. I was always encouraged from a very young age to buy things myself with pocketmoney. C&A was great for this because not only were there clothes fashionable but they were at such low prices! I remember many a time when I came out of that store with a top that had cost something ridiculous like £2! Those were the days! Also it helped children, like myself at the time, contribute to christmas as they sold a lot of novelty gifts for pocket money prices and then there was also the chance to buy clothing for family members as gifts without breaking the piggy bank. I was so upset when I found out that all the C&A shops where closing down - why did such a good shop have to go? I know that their sales where down and that they were not making a profit but everyone I know has brought something in there in the last year. Clockhouse was my favourite part but when I was little I got most of my clothes from there. No matter what item of clothing I was looking for it would probably be there. I don't think that people realised how much they used C&A until it had gone. However I recommend that all C&A lovers now look in Primark - they have even cheaper clothes which are mostly up to date. But don't ... Read the complete review

I have to say I was mildy amused to see C&A under a heading of 'Fashion Shops' on Dooyoo today, C&A and fashion not being two words that I have often seen go hand in hand. In fact it seems like I'm one of the few people out there who will be glad to see the back of C&A and their shoddy brand of highly 'daggy' clothing. It is bad enough that the highstreets seem to be getting clogged up with really bad discount clothing stores at the moment - places like Eisenneger and The Officers Club to name but a few in my local area of Colchester, but C&A have been selling trash for years...but now they're going. However, they do seem to be taking ... Read the complete review

I think that it is a real shame that this shop is going to be closing down for good. I think the reason that less people were shopping here, was that people do not want to buy cheap clothes, they want to buy labels, or at least from a high street store which isn’t as cheap. By that I don’t just mean the prices, but the reputation. Whenever I shop here, the main reason is the price. It’s nice being able to go in, and know that pretty much everything is at an affordable price. However, ompared to other shops, I find that I tend to return clothes more. I will buy something, because it’s cheap and it looks nice, but then when I take it home, ... Read the complete review

With C&A now closing there are some excellent bargains to be picked up. I was there today and bought a nice warm Fleece for just £8 when they would usually be anything from £20 upwards. C&A is closing because of competition in the high street. C&A was renown for good, quality, reasonably price clothing. They were also renown for boring clothing, which I do have to agree to, they didn’t have much stuff that you could say was different. But on the other hand, where are you supposed to get ‘normal’ clothing from. Theres got to be one store at least that caters for this type of clothing. I think people have now realised that the clothing ... Read the complete review
