Cancer Research UKNewest Review: ... Without research into Cancer treatments they would have died. I have friends & relatives who have died from Cancer. Without research into treatments for Cancer their deaths may have been far more painful & less dignified. Chances are you, too, know people who have been touched by Cancer. If you do then you don't need a dooyoo review to tell you that funding research into this ... more |

My aunt died of Cancer 5 years ago. My wife's cousin survived Cancer 2 years ago. My Mother survived Cancer 8 years ago. 4 Colleagues have died from Cancer over the last 3 years. My 2 year old daughter has a rare condition that means she's in a high risk group for having Cancer. She has blood tests every 8 weeks and ultrasounds every 3 months so that we can spot any growths as early as possible. If she develops Cancer we have a chance that we may save her life thanks to this screening process. Without research into identifying Cancers we wouldn't have known how to do this. As written above I have relatives that have ... Read the complete review

I have volunteered at my local Caner Research shop since October now and although I may be bias as I do hold a great deal of loyalty to 'my' shop, I believe that Cancer Research is the best charity shop that there is (and before you ask, yes I have visited all other charity shops). Cancer Research doesn't fulfil the expected qualities of a charity shop, it doesn't smell 'funny', it offers a good range of clothes (I personally have bought several items from Cancer Research and I'm incredibly picky about what I wear) and it always has a bright and friendly atmosphere (something that I have found is not always the case as many charity shops seem to me to be a bit dull and ... None of us like to hear about the dreaded C word, but unfortunately the majority of us has either been affected by this disease or knows somebody who has. Cancer affects people of all ages, and causes about 13% of all deaths. During 2007, 7.6 million people worldwide died from the disease. I support my local Cancer Research shop because myself, I know a lot of people who have suffered with cancer, and died from it. Every time I am out shopping in my local town centre, the first shop on my list is the Cancer research shop. The cause is a great one, and is in need of as much money as possible to help fight the disease. My partners mum is ... Read the complete review

we have 6 charity shops in our local shopping centre and, although there are loads of locals moaning about the lack of 'proper' shops, I personally love them! my favourite one is the cancer research charity shop for 2 reasons ~ 1. the cause is such a good one & I like the idea of helping, if only in a small way, towards an illness that any one of us can be affected by 2. the shop - ours has friendly & helpful staffi, it is clean, well laid out, and, if you're lucky - bargains galore! at the moment the christmas cards are arriving along with other new goods for the seasonal period - these aren't cheap but cancer ... I admit it, I used to think Cancer Research shops were some sort of permanent jumble sale selling a few choice smelling clothes and tea stained books. At school, I remember the kids that shopped at chairty shops were regarded as some sort of oddity. My friend became the manager of our local shop and I started popping into see her. Two years on and several bargain purchases later, I would like to remind readers who also dismiss Cancer Research shops aside as being full of old frilly shirts to think again. I have purchased a number of good quality items. The forte of the shop I visit seems to be dresses. I have purchased no end of these. Two are from Jigsaw and ... Read the complete review
